Marandi

a.k.a. Black Azerbaijan

These birds are from Azerbaijan in northwest Iran. They date back to the 16th century. They are very rare now.

They are feather-legged, single combed and have a beard and muff. The common color is Black. Males weigh 2.5-3 kg and females 2-2.2 kg.

The eggs are light brown and they are fair layers: 150-200 eggs/year.
