Queen Silvia

The Queen Silvia was developed in Sweden by Martin Silverudd. It came from a cross between White Leghorns and Rhode Island Reds.

Roosters should be almost white with some black markings on the wings and saddle and have a solid black tail. This pattern is considered to have come from a mutation in the White Leghorn line. Note that the roosters pictured here don't match the original description of the breed. Hopefully I'll get some better pictures.

They lay a medium brown egg and the hens that do go broody are excellent mothers.
