Owl Proofing
This is what I do. Go to Walmart's or the like. Buy a whole bunch of those cheap Christmas lites, the indoor/outdoor kind, only the red ones. Also get a whole bunch of extra flasher bulbs, as those burn out.
You can string up to 3 strings together. Hang them at a height, preferably, of 14 feet. String them where the owls will see them as they're coming in. They work quite well -- my losses to owls have decreased perhaps 90%.
As a backup, I plug them in to those little flasher outlets you can get at a good hardware store. That way, even if the flasher bulbs in the string blow, it will at least continue to flash, tho' it will be an even flash, not the preferable random flashing of the Christmas lites.
