The Castellana Negra is a Mediterannean-type fowl developed in Spain around 1900. It is a layer of white eggs and annual production usually lies between 220 and 225 eggs. The cocks weigh around 3 kg (7 lb) and hens from 2 to 2 1/2 kg (5-6 lb).
