This is an old German breed from the northern parts of Bavaria. It is a small goose, weighing between 4 to 6 kg (10 to 15 lb), and is very easy to breed. It appears in many varieties and in the past all the locals would let their geese pasture together during the nonbreeding season as they could tell their own birds by color.
The Light Blue Frankonian has recently been accepted into the German standard.
Note: These geese are not in the US yet. If anyone imports them, though, please let me know cause I want some too!!
